  • Talde Private Equity, after six years as a shareholder, sells its stake in P4Q to Kinematics, an American company and world leader in intelligent motion control.
  • Over the years, P4Q has established itself as a leader in the development of high-performance electronics for solar tracking controllers. Its main competitive advantage, is knowing how to combine the latest technology in development and manufacturing of electronic products with mathematical algorithms with a team committed to innovation.
  •  The transaction is subject to the relevant Spanish regulatory approvals.

Talde Private Equity entered P4Q's capital at the end of 2018, with the management team maintaining a relevant participation, with the objective of consolidating the leadership in the solar sector and boosting its development in other businesses. P4Q Electronics incorporated the Talde fund as a majority shareholder to drive its growth within its Strategic Plan.

P4Q, a company specialized in electronics, is focused on the development of solutions for solar tracking controllers and industrial automation. Its target is to optimize energy efficiency and improve reliability and precision in solar trackers, offering advanced technology that benefits both new projects and existing installations in the renewable energy sector.  In addition, its know-how has allowed it to develop new products for other sectors with great future potential, for example, in the medical-health sector.

With this sale, P4Q will be integrated into the Kinematics Group, allowing it to better serve the world's leading solar tracker OEMs with an expanded global reach and a unified motion control solution that simplifies installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Aitor Alapont, CEO of P4Q, underlined that “Talde Private Equity's investment has boosted the company's growth, strengthened its diversification and facilitated the opening of new facilities in Spain and Latin America. The recently opened 4,500 sqm facility in Alonsotegi has positioned P4Q for a promising future. Since Talde's arrival, innovation and technological development, have been fundamental to consolidate its leadership in the photovoltaic sector and explore new markets with great potential.” Alapont as well as the rest of the P4Q Management Team, will continue to lead their current responsibilities, participating in this exciting industrial project in a direct way.

Citibank and TD Securities, two of the largest commercial banks in North America, have led the financing of the transaction. In this process, Kinematics is represented by Proskauer Rose LLP, and the shareholders of P4Q have been advised by Garrigues and PWC.

The transaction is subject to Spanish regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in early 2025.
